airBaltic was founded in 1995. It's the flag carrier of Latvia, operates its main hub at Riga International Airport (RIX), with additional bases at Tallinn Airport (TLL), Vilnius Airport (VNO), and, starting in May 2022, Tampere Airport (TMP).

The airBaltic fleet currently consists of one of the world’s most modern and environmentally friendly aircraft: 49 Airbus A220-300. The new A220-300 aircraft with a total of 145 seats offers an excellent flying experience with such benefits for passengers as wider seats, larger windows, more hand luggage space in the cabin, improved lavatories and others. The new aircraft is also much quieter, with a four times smaller noise footprint. Moreover, at the moment, it is the greenest commercial aircraft in the world, as it is the first aircraft to have a transparent declaration of the life-cycle environmental impact, helping to reduce CO2 and NOX emissions by 20% and 50% respectively.
