airBaltic

airBaltic is the flag carrier of Latvia. Its hub is at Riga International Airport (RIX), with further bases currently at Tallinn Airport and Vilnius Airport and from May 2022 at Tampere Airport.

Latvian airline Air Baltic Corporation AS (airBaltic) was founded in 1995. Its primary shareholder is the Latvian state, which holds 96.14% of the stock, while Lars Thuesen holds 3.86% through his fully-owned Aircraft Leasing 1 SIA. airBaltic is a hybrid airline taking the best practices both from traditional network airlines and low-cost carriers.

Under the slogan “We Care”, airBaltic flies to 70+ destinations across Baltics, Europe, Russia, Caucasus, Middle east and Central Asia. Currently, airBaltic operates direct flights out of all capitals of the Baltic States – Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Tallinn (Estonia). airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.

The airBaltic fleet currently consists of one of the world’s greenest commercial aircraft – the Airbus A220-300. Thanks to the latest order of 30 (with options for an additional 30 aircraft of the same type) Airbus A220 aircraft, the airBaltic fleet is one of the most modern and environmental friendlies in Europe. The new A220-300 aircraft with a total of 145 seats offers an excellent flying experience with such benefits for passengers as wider seats, larger windows, more hand luggage space in the cabin, improved lavatories and others. The new aircraft is also much quieter – with a four times smaller noise footprint. Moreover, at the moment, it is the greenest commercial aircraft in the world, as it is the first aircraft to have a transparent declaration of the life-cycle environmental impact, helping to reduce CO2 and NOX emissions by 20% and 50% respectively.

On most flights, airBaltic offers a buy on board menu offering food and drinks for purchase. Enjoy a meal on board, cooked from the finest ingredients shortly before your flight. You can pre-order your meal from the extensive menu on airBaltic.com and the airline will serve you among the first during service.

airBaltic offers unaccompanied minor services: airBaltic crew will take care of your child if you're unable to accompany them on the flight: from boarding to delivering your offspring to a parent or guardian at the destination airport.
