Bangkok Airways

Bangkok Airways is a regional airline based in Bangkok, Thailand. It is the first privately-owned airline and a frequent winner of industry awards, Bangkok Airways describes itself as “Asia’s Boutique Airline”. The airline began its scheduled services in 1986. Initially named Sahakol Air, the airline changed its name to Bangkok Airways in 1989.

The airline has its primary hub at Suvarnabhumi Airport, and its secondary hubs are at Phuket International Airport and Chiang Mai International Airport.

"To be the leading airline in Asia" is the slogan of Bangkok Airways.

As of January 2023, Bangkok Airways operates the following aircraft: 9 Airbus A320, 16 Airbus A319, 13 ATR 72-600.

Bangkok Airways offers two types of classes on its planes: Economy Class and Blue Ribbon Class (Business Class).

It provides full-course meals on board, and lounges for every passengers on the ground, offering snacks and drinks.

Bangkok Airways flies to the following destinations:

Domestic: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Krabi, Lampang, Mae Hong Son, Pattaya, Phuket, Samui, Sukhothai, Trat.
International: Da Nang (Vietnam), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Maldives (India), Mandalay (Myanmar), Mumbai (India), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Singapore, Hongkong (China), Luang Prabang (Laos).

Bangkok Airways owns and operates three airports: Samui Airport, Sukhothai Airport, Trat Airport.

Besides its attractive network, Bangkok Airways adds to the network covered by Global Explorer one additional nine new airports: Thailand’s Chiang Rai (CEI), Lampang (LPT), Trat (TDX), Sukhothai (THS), Koh Samui (USM), Udon Thani (UTH) and Utapao (UTP), along with Laos’ Luang Prabang (LPQ) and Vientiane-Watay (VTE).

This means Global Explorer now features some 215 destinations across Asia – and almost 1150 worldwide.
