Gulf Air

Gulf Air is the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The airline commenced operations in 1950. Its main hub is Bahrain International Airport (BAH). Headquartered in Muharraq, under the slogan ‘A class of our own’, Gulf Air operates scheduled flights to 52 destinations in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe. Gulf Air is the sponsor of the Bahrain Grand Prix and Bahrain International Airshow, where some of its fleet of aircraft sport liveries of the event.

Gulf Air currently serves all its destinations with a combination of a wide and narrow-body fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft. As of January 2025, Gulf Air operates a fleet, currently comprising 42 aircraft. The fleet consists of 8 Airbus A320-200, 6 Airbus A320neo, 4 Airbus A321-200, 14 Airbus A321neo and 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Renowned for its traditional Arabian hospitality, Gulf Air develops products and services that reflect the evolving needs and aspirations of its passengers. The airline offers two classes for passengers: Falcon Gold Class and Economy Class.

 Falcon Gold Class features first-class luxury, and at the same time, it gives the passengers a good deal of business amenities. It offers them a lavish atmosphere in terms of on-ground and in-flight services. On board, the seats are spacious, comfortable and are equipped with massage functions on selected aircraft models. Seats are adjustable, reclining at 180 degrees, so it can be converted into a comfortable bed. Gulf Air offers Falcon Gold class passengers chef-curated menus with a variety of free meals and drinks to select from. To enhance the passengers’ culinary pleasures, they are indulged with an onboard chef to prepare specifically ordered dishes on long-haul flights. 

Falcon Gold Class passengers travelling with children would find peace of mind on board Gulf Air as it provides babysitters to look after children. Further, it offers Falcon Gold class passengers outstanding on-ground services. They are granted access to glamorous Falcon Gold Lounges located in Bahrain International Airport and some international airports around the world. The Lounges offers several services such as the Internet, food and drinks. They are also equipped with a business centre allocated for business people to follow up their business activities in a quiet atmosphere and enjoy their privacy.

Economy Class: Seats are comfortable and are equipped with adjustable headrests and individual screens installed to the back of the seats to display entertainment materials. Also, Economy class passengers are offered mouth-watering meals and refreshing beverages.

Gulf Air has received the official APEX Five Star Major rating several times at select APEX EXPOs.

On January 7, 2022, Gulf Air received the highest 5-star safety rating from Skytrax for its COVID-19 preventive measures, becoming one of only sixteen airlines in the world to receive this highest recognition.
