Over the years, SAUDIA has been a pioneer in the travel industry in the Middle East. Saudia, formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, is the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. The airline's main operational base is at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam are secondary hubs. As one of the most experienced airlines in the region, it raised the standards in customer service excellence in the region and around the world while playing a key role in the development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On 29 May 2012 SAUDIA joined the SkyTeam airline alliance becoming the first Persian Gulf carrier to join one of the three major airline alliances. It has codeshare agreements with popular international airlines such as Middle East Airlines, KLM, AEROFLOT, Air Europa, and Air France.

Today, SAUDIA has one of the youngest fleets in the world, ready to take off from Jeddah’s new state-of-the-art Terminal 1. Today SAUDIA operates a fleet of 147 aircraft including the latest and most advanced wide-bodied jets presently available: B787-9, B777-268L, B777-300ER, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321, and Airbus A330-300. Saudia continues to purchase state-of-the-art aircraft from major producers in the world to modernize its fleet, after conducting comprehensive studies on the airline’s requirements for different types and sizes of aircraft, by Saudia’s operation strategy for domestic, regional and international flights.

SAUDIA operates domestic and international scheduled flights to over 90 destinations across Asia, Africa, Europe, The Middle East, And North America. SAUDIA's food and beverage area offer you a seating area that allows families or singles to sit and enjoy their meal. The relaxation area is where guests can rest and recover before their next flight. Stretch and unwind in the tranquillity and comfort of one of the relaxation seats available to prepare you for the next part of your journey. We understand that if the guests’ children are happy then it helps the guests to relax and enjoy their visit too. We have created a great room to keep the children occupied with video games, a drawing and colouring area and a large educational world map.

For those guests that need to work on the move, the business area is a fully equipped workspace ideal for calm and efficient productivity with private desks and internet access. A meeting room is also available on request allowing the guests to maximize their working time whilst waiting for their flight. The spacious main seating area offers TV screens and a selection of newspapers and magazines.

A self-service food counter with drinks and snacks is also available for those who don’t have time for a proper meal.

SAUDIA's lounges are equipped with shower facilities. The guests can enjoy a refreshing shower whilst waiting.

SAUDIA has been awarded the 4-Star Airline certification by Skytrax for the quality of its airport and onboard products and staff service. Product rating includes seats, amenities, food & beverages, IFE, cleanliness etc, and service rating is for both cabin staff and ground staff.
