Tradewind Aviation is an American airline headquartered at the Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Oxford Connecticut with operational bases at Westchester County Airport in New York, Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico, and Witham Field in Stuart, Florida. Tradewind Aviation provides private and scheduled service in the Northeast, Southeast, and the Caribbean, as well as aircraft management services. The air charter company is best known for its Westchester to Nantucket summer ticket books and its Puerto Rico to St. Barths scheduled service.
With a fleet of Pilatus PC-12s and Citation CJ3 Jets, Tradewind is the market leader in regional air mobility, servicing luxury destinations such as Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, St Barths, Virgin Gorda, and Anguilla.
Scheduled flights offer the comfort and convenience of a private charter for the cost of a single seat. In the US, scheduled flights are operated from the New York area to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Flights depart from private FBO terminals, providing efficient and seamless travel to Tradewind guests’ destinations. In the Caribbean, scheduled flights are operated between San Juan, St Barths, Anguilla, Antigua, Virgin Gorda, and St Thomas.
Private service is operated in a fleet of Pilatus PC-12s and Citation CJ3 jets, allowing guests to have control over their travel experience and fly on their own time. On March 1, 2022, Tradewind Aviation, in partnership with Pilatus Aircraft, announced that it would take delivery of 20 Pilatus PC-12 NGX aircraft between the third quarter of 2022 and 2027, at a rate of four aircraft per year. The fleet allows guests to land at airports closer to their final destination, allowing them to maximize time doing what they love. The client service team is happy to assist with every step of the journey, including custom catering, ground transportation, and more. The ultimate in comfort, reliability, and safety, the Pilatus PC-12 features a pressurized and air-conditioned cabin with equal and ample room for 8 passengers. On scheduled routes, the Pilatus is configured with 8 forward-facing seats, which allows for more room for luggage. Private service is operated in an executive-configured aircraft featuring a four-person club plus two rows of forward-facing seats and a fully enclosed lavatory.
In September 2023, Tradewind opened a new hub in Stuart, Florida at Witham Field, serving the burgeoning Southeast market. Today, Tradewind is the second-largest operator of the Pilatus PC-12 in the U.S., and the world's largest operator of PC-12s for charter.
In 2021, 2022, and 2023, Tradewind was nominated for the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards as one of America's best airlines, and was voted 5th, 4th, and 3rd best, respectively.
