 Xiamen Airlines was founded in 1984. It is China's first privately-owned airline created in accordance with the modern corporate system headquartered in Xiamen City, Fujian Province. After 35 years of sustainable development, Xiamen Airlines has become an airline with distinctive characteristics in China’s civil aviation industry. The airline operates scheduled passenger flights out of Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport and, to a lesser extent, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Fuzhou Changle International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.

Xiamen Airlines currently operates around 350 domestic and international routes, which forms a network covering entire China and with a strong presence in Southeast and Northeast Asia. In recent years, as new intercontinental routes to Amsterdam, Sydney, New York, Los Angeles, etc. were opened consecutively, Xiamen's network has prospered and reached Europe, America and Oceania, and extended to all major destinations around the world via SkyTeam Alliance. 

Today, Xiamen Airlines has one of the most modern fleets in the region. It operates the biggest all-Boeing fleet in China. As of January 2020, the size of Xiamen Airlines’ fleet has reached 206 airplanes with an average age of 6 years.

Xiamen Airlines continues to fulfill its mission of “take more people to explore the world”. While maintaining existing advantages, Xiamen Airline will focus on transformation and innovation, expanding the navigation service chain and mass customer base, and building a regional network. Xiamen will also accelerate the coverage of intercontinental routes to provide customers with worthwhile travel experiences and realize the corporate vision of “excellent performance and steady growth”. 

With its global aviation network and the world's only 787 Dreamliner with Sustainable Development Goals livery - United Dream, Xiamen Airlines will share the concept of sustainable development to more than 100 million passengers by 2030, contributing even more Chinese efforts in building a community of shared futures for mankind.

From 2012 to 2019, Xiamen Airline has been voted by passengers as "the Chinese Airline with the Best Service".

Skytrax certified Xiamen Airlines as a 3-Star Airline for the quality of its airport and onboard product and staff service. Product rating includes seats, amenities, food & beverages, IFE, cleanliness etc, and service rating is for both cabin staff and ground staff.
