Aircalin

Aircalin is the flag carrier of the French collectivity of New Caledonia, with its headquarters in Nouméa, which has been a proud symbol of the archipelago’s spirit since its inception in 1983. Serving over 100 destinations and partnering with 60 airlines, Aircalin connects New Caledonia to the Pacific and beyond, fostering cultural and commercial exchanges, particularly with French overseas territories. Aircalin operates a fleet of two Airbus A330neo and two Airbus A320neo aircraft, designed for efficiency and comfort. These modern planes reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 15–20% per seat compared to older models, aligning with Aircalin’s commitment to sustainability. The aircraft proudly display New Caledonia’s colours, with cabin designs evoking the archipelago’s coastline (Business Hibiscus Class), forest (Premium Economy), and lagoon (Economy Class), serving as ambassadors for the region’s natural beauty.

In 2022, Aircalin launched direct Nouméa-Singapore flights, opening gateways to Southeast Asia and Europe. In response to the 2024 New Caledonia crisis, Aircalin introduced a Nouméa-Paris route via Bangkok, connecting Paris in just 23 hours twice weekly. The airline marked its 42nd anniversary in 2025. 

Aircalin’s cabins are designed for passenger comfort, featuring quiet interiors, mood lighting tailored to each flight phase, and high-definition in-flight entertainment screens. All classes (Business Hibiscus (exclusive to A330neo), Premium Economy, and Economy) offer premium seats, USB charging, and attentive service.

Economy Class: With 244 seats on A330neo and up to 168 on A320neo, Economy Class reflects New Caledonia’s lagoon with shades of blue and ocean-inspired wall motifs. Features include comfort foam seats, a 110-volt outlet (A330neo), and Seat Plus options for extra legroom or priority disembarkation.

Premium Economy Class: Offering a private cabin with 2–4 rows, Premium Economy showcases New Caledonia’s flora, including the Philodendron and iconic Pine. Passengers enjoy dedicated check-in, priority boarding, and enhanced amenities like champagne, gourmet meals, and generous legroom (up to 96cm on A330neo).

Business Hibiscus Class: Exclusive to A330neo, this class combines New Caledonian and global flavours with menus served on fine porcelain. The cabin’s coastline-inspired design and premium service, including award-winning wines, elevate the experience.

In 2023, Aircalin’s wine selection earned two Excellence Awards at the Business Traveller Cellars in the Sky ceremony, securing gold for its business class sweet wine and silver for its white wine.

Aircalin’s dining experience is a highlight, with à la carte menus like Gourmet Breakfast, Hamburger, and Gourmet Cold Plate. Business Hibiscus and Premium Economy passengers enjoy meals crafted by Aircalin’s chef, blending New Caledonian and French cuisine with global influences, paired with regularly updated French wines and champagnes.

Aircalin adheres to the highest global aviation standards, operating under the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) framework. Since 2007, the airline has maintained IOSA (Operational Safety Audit) certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), renewed biennially to ensure compliance with rigorous safety standards.
