Currently, flights in the Republic of Armenia are served by two major airports: Zvartnots International Airport in the capital Yerevan and Shirak Airport in Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia. Although there are currently more than a dozen other airports in Armenia, Erebuni Airport serves as a military airport and the others are not operational.
Zvartnots International Airport is the largest airport in Armenia. It is located near the medieval Zvartnots Cathedral and is named after this glorious monument. It is located 10 km west of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
Gyumri Shirak Airport has been operating since 1961 and is located 5 km from the city of Gyumri and 120 km from Yerevan.
