Estonia's position at the crossroads of Northern Europe makes its airports essential gateways for tourism, business, and regional connectivity.

Estonia is served by a network of airports and airfields managed under a single national operator. All commercial aviation infrastructure, from the capital's international terminal to the quiet island airstrips, falls under AS Tallinn Airport, a state-owned company with the Republic of Estonia as its sole shareholder. This unified approach ensures consistent standards across the country's aviation landscape.

Estonia currently operates five airports and two airfields open to passenger traffic:

  • Tallinn Lennart Meri Airport (TLL)
  • Tartu Airport (TAY)
  • Kuressaare Airport (URE)
  • Kärdla Airport (KDL)
  • Pärnu Airport (EPU)
  • Kihnu Airfield & Ruhnu Airfield (light aviation/island connections)

Tallinn Lennart Meri Airport (TLL) is Estonia's primary international gateway and the undisputed heart of the country's air network. It connects Estonia to major European hubs, Scandinavian capitals, and an expanding list of leisure and business destinations, offering direct flights to 60 destinations across the continent and beyond.

Kuressaare Airport (URE) is the lifeline of the island of Saaremaa, keeping this beloved Baltic island destination connected to the mainland. New developments are on the horizon, with Saaremaa set to receive an air connection with Finland for the summer months of 2026.

Kärdla Airport (KDL) serves the island of Hiiumaa, one of Estonia's most unspoiled and serene corners, with regular domestic links to Tallinn.

Pärnu Airport (EPU) is the gateway to Estonia's summer capital, serving seasonal and charter traffic along the sun-warmed shores of the Gulf of Riga.

Estonia maintains strong air connections with destinations across Scandinavia, Central and Western Europe, and beyond, with Stockholm, Riga, Helsinki, and Frankfurt ranking among the most-travelled routes from Tallinn.

In Magelline's view, Estonia's airports are more than transit points. They are the first quiet breath of a country built on digital ambition, medieval stone, and the silence of ancient forests. Tallinn welcomes the world with Nordic precision and quiet Baltic warmth. And from the mainland to the outermost islands, every runway in Estonia tells the same story: a small nation, confidently open to the world.
