Thai AirAsia

Thai AirAsia is a subsidiary of Thailand's Asia Aviation and Malaysian low-fare airline AirAsia. Today, it is the second-largest airline in Thailand, after Thai Airways International. It is a leading sustainable travel technology company in Asia, providing the highest quality products that leverage technology to reduce costs, enhance service, and care for all guests, business partners, and investors.

The airline was launched in February 2004, and the first flight was from Bangkok-Don Mueang to Hat Yai.

Thai AirAsia connects travellers across Southeast Asia and beyond, operating frequent, affordable flights from Bangkok and other dynamic Thai cities. The airline operates from its primary hubs at Bangkok’s Don Mueang (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi (BKK) airports, as well as Phuket and Chiang Mai, focusing on short-haul international and domestic routes within a four-and-a-half-hour flight radius. This strategic network provides access to exciting destinations across Southeast Asia, South Asia, southern China, and Japan. Catering to both leisure travellers seeking adventure and business travellers prioritising punctuality, Thai AirAsia offers budget-friendly fares and reliable on-time performance to ensure a seamless travel experience.

Thai AirAsia offers its services under a fleet of brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft on every flight. It will continuously take delivery of new aircraft into its fleet. This would allow Thai AirAsia to provide customers with enhanced services on all of its flights with maximised safety from its brand-new aircraft fleet. Thai AirAsia has a fleet of 62 aircraft comprising 51 Airbus A320-200s and 11 Airbus A320neos. Skytrax left the following review about Air Asia's board:  “AirAsia has a standard 29-inch pitch, which is okay for short flights. Newer aircraft have USB charging and WiFi. Free IFE streaming is available on some aircraft, but the content is quite limited. Buy-onboard F&B choices are reasonable, and there is a good range of pre-order items. Cabin staff service can be good, but it does lack consistency”.

The airline flies to 67 destinations in many regions, including Australia, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.

AirAsia is certified as a 3-star low-cost airline by Skytrax for the quality of its airport and onboard products and staff service. Product rating includes cabin comfort, baggage/seat charges, buying onboard food & beverages, cabin cleanliness, and service rating for cabin and ground staff.
