Linate Airport

Linate Airport (LIN) is located just 7 kilometres from the Duomo. Linate feels less like a distant aviation hub and more like an extension of Milan itself: a runway woven into the rhythm of fashion, design, and metropolitan life. It is the third-busiest airport in the Milan metropolitan area in terms of passenger numbers, after Malpensa and Bergamo, and the second busiest in terms of aircraft movements. The official name is Aeroporto Enrico Forlanini, in honour of the Milan-born aviation pioneer and inventor. Despite this, the name “Linate” is the one commonly used.

Linate specialises in handling business traffic and short European flights. The main carriers are: ITA Airways, Lufthansa Group, Air France-KLM and easyJet.

Linate Airport features one three-story passenger terminal building. The ground level contains the check-in and separate baggage reclaim facilities as well as service counters and a secondary departure gate area for bus-boarding. The first floor features the main departure area with several shops, restaurants and service facilities. The second floor is used for office space.
The terminal building features five aircraft stands, all of which are equipped with jet-bridges. Several more parking positions are available on the apron, which are reached from several bus-boarding gates.

The airport is well-connected to the city by public transportation. There are several ways to get to Linate Airport from the centre of Milan by metro or taxi.
Two new metro stations, Tricolore and San Babila, have brought Linate Airport and the centre of Milan closer than ever. Now the journey between these two key points takes only 12 minutes.

In Magelline’s eyes, Milan Linate Airport is the city's living soul, a runway so close to Milan that every journey becomes part of its history. It is Milan's first greeting and its final, elegant farewell.
Planes take off here every day, as do all the ideas born in the minds of designers, artists, performers, and other dreamers. Every arrival touches the vibrant, authentic city; every departure carries away a piece of its spirit. Linate is more than just a place where journeys begin and end. It is Milan itself, compressed into a single moment of movement.
