Air India Express is an Indian low-cost airline and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Indian flag carrier airline Air India. Currently, it is headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana.

It operates more than 2000 flights per week to 45 destinations across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The airline has a primary hub in Kochi and secondary hubs in Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, Tiruchirappalli, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

Air India Express has a fleet of over 110 aircraft, comprising Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s. The company invites guests with the proposition to ‘Fly As You Are’, using thoughtfully considered technology to enable flyers to personalise and take charge of their travel experience. The airline offers Gourmair hot meals, Comfortable seats, pioneering in-flight entertainment AirFlix, and a host of exclusive loyalty benefits for members of the Tata NeuPass rewards program.

The company takes pride in maintaining a safe and secure environment. It closely monitors global best practices, collaborates with medical professionals and regulators to stay updated on health and safety, and ensures strict adherence to stringent guidelines. All aircraft use HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Arresters) aircraft filtration systems, which filter 99.99% of dust particles and airborne contaminants, including viruses and bacteria. These filters offer a level of performance comparable to those used to maintain air quality in hospital operating rooms. In addition, the airline's disinfection checklists follow the guidelines issued by WHO, ICAO & IATA.

Recognising the importance of sustainability, Air India Express has embarked on a sustainability journey early on. The team understands that the global aviation industry is responsible for around 2% of all human-induced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and identifies the material sustainability issues for the airline under the guidance of Tata Sustainability Group. By embedding sustainability principles at the core of the business, the company aims to prepare itself to manage ESG risks and leverage opportunities emanating from ESG trends.

Air India Express recognises that its have various sources of CO2 emissions across the value chain, including operations and inbound logistics, ground and airside operations, flight operations, and a corporate office. Therefore, they have developed a CSR policy to make CSR one of the areas which focus on making a positive contribution to society through high-impact, sustainable programs. With the technology options available to the company, the airline can significantly decrease its carbon dioxide emissions by implementing a range of emission reduction measures. These may include the use of an up-to-date fleet, adopting efficient flying practices, and compensating for emissions.
