SkyWest Airlines is an American regional airline headquartered in St. George, Utah. The airline was founded on 26 April 1972.
With over 15,000 aviation professionals operating thousands of daily flights, SkyWest Airlines connects millions of passengers each year to hundreds of destinations throughout North America across 47 states, 5 Canadian provinces and 10 Mexican cities.
SkyWest operates in partnership with United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines and has a fleet of over 500 aircraft.
SkyWest is a major operator of the Bombardier CRJ family of regional jets, was the launch customer for CRJ200, is the largest operator of the CRJ200 and took delivery of the last CRJ ever built, a CRJ900.
Like most regional airlines in the United States, SkyWest is subject to the scope clause requirements of its mainline carrier partners and their pilot unions: those requirements limit the size of the aircraft flown by a regional airline, measured in seat capacity. This has created three subgroups of aircraft flown by SkyWest: aircraft with no more than 50 seats, no more than 70 seats, and no more than 76 seats.
On flights with SkyWest, Safety is the First. Since the first SkyWest Airlines flights took to the sky, the airline has put its "Safety First" motto to work.
SkyWest Airlines continues to be a leading choice for passengers, effortlessly connecting them to the heart of smaller communities and regional destinations. Its modern aircraft and unwavering commitment to passenger comfort mean passengers can always count on SkyWest for a reliable and exceptional travel experience. As of June 2025, the SkyWest Airlines fleet consists of the following aircraft: 130 Bombardier CRJ-200, 137 Bombardier CRJ-700, 51 Bombardier CRJ-900 and 263 Embraer ERJ-175.
