Ezeiza Airport

In Magelline’s eyes, Ezeiza (EZE) is where Argentina begins in light, in motion, in heart.

Buenos Aires Airport is officially known as Ministro Pistarini International Airport, but is commonly referred to as Ezeiza Airport due to its location’s name. Located 31 km southwest of Buenos Aires’ city centre, it welcomes millions of visitors each year — travellers chasing tango, culture, and adventure.

While Jorge Newbery Airpark (AEP) handles much of the city’s domestic traffic, Ezeiza (EZE) remains the nation’s premier international gateway, a place where journeys to and from Argentina truly begin.

Ezeiza is not only Buenos Aires’ main airport but also the largest aerodrome in Argentina, managing over two-thirds of all international air traffic. Its three terminals and two runways accommodate every aircraft type from regional jets to wide-body intercontinental airliners — linking Argentina to every corner of the world.

The airport comprises 3 terminal buildings: Terminal A, the Departures Terminal, and Terminal C and all are connected by walkways. Transit between them is easy and efficient, taking no more than ten minutes on foot.

Terminal A, the oldest of the three, is now dedicated to international arrivals. Within its two levels, passengers find a welcoming array of shops, restaurants, and lounges, a calm introduction to Buenos Aires’ rhythm and warmth.

The Departures Terminal, which opened in April 2023, is the centrepiece of Ezeiza's modernisation efforts and is often called the "New Zeppelin Terminal" due to its distinctive, massive metal roof structure. Built on the site of the former Terminal B, this structure spans 50,000 m² and is recognised as the most technologically advanced terminal in Latin America. Sustainability guides its design. Ezeiza now operates entirely on renewable energy and aims to serve up to 30 million passengers annually.

Inside, innovation meets comfort:

  • Nine boarding sectors (A–I),
  • Five check-in zones with 150+ counters,
  • 36 immigration stations for faster processing,
  • 72 self-check-in kiosks and 24 automated baggage counters,
  • Ten baggage carousels, eight VIP lounges, and a wide selection of shops and dining venues.

Terminal C, once the domestic terminal, now serves domestic arrivals only, featuring duty-free outlets, cafés, and the Aerolíneas Argentinas “Salón Cóndor” lounge, a tribute to Argentina’s proud flag carrier.

Ezeiza Airport offers every modern comfort expected from a global hub: free Wi-Fi, luggage services, car rentals, medical assistance, and dedicated family and accessibility areas. Ground transportation includes taxis, shuttle buses, and private transfers connecting directly to downtown Buenos Aires in about 45 minutes.

In line with Argentina’s growing environmental consciousness, Ezeiza International stands as a model of green aviation. From energy-efficient lighting to advanced recycling systems and renewable electricity, it represents the country’s ambition for a cleaner, smarter travel future.

According to Magelline Guidebook, beneath Ezeiza’s soaring steel arches, travel feels like music — every departure a tango step, every arrival a heartbeat of Argentina. Here, technology and tradition embrace, welcoming the world to a nation defined by passion, rhythm, and open skies.
