Batumi International Airport
Batumi International Airport (BUS) is located just 2 km south of Batumi, the main city of Georgia’s Black Sea coast. As one of the country’s three international airports, alongside Tbilisi and Kutaisi, it serves as a key gateway to the Adjara region and plays an important role in connecting western Georgia with regional and international destinations, as well as providing domestic flights to Tbilisi.
The airport offers a modern, spacious environment following a major expansion of its passenger terminal, which now covers 8,000 m². As part of this modernisation, the baggage handling system was upgraded through the installation of a new conveyor line and an additional baggage carousel, allowing for smoother and faster baggage processing. The terminal includes 14 check-in counters, 12 border security booths in the arrivals area, and 8 booths in departures, ensuring streamlined passenger flow even during peak hours. The departure zone was improved with two additional bus gates, increasing the total to six and enhancing the airport’s capability to handle multiple aircraft simultaneously. Other upgraded areas include the duty-free zone, the business lounge, and the airport’s parking facilities, all redesigned to offer passengers a more comfortable and efficient travel experience.
Upon arrival, passengers have access to a baggage carousel and free baggage trolleys provided in the reclaim hall. The Information Desk located at the center of the terminal offers guidance on airport facilities and procedures. Additional services include a luggage-wrapping machine in the departure hall, a lost and found office in the arrivals area, and a medical point for passenger assistance.
Convenient transportation options are available directly outside the terminal. Taxis can be found at the main exit, while a public bus stop is located just in front of the terminal building, offering easy connections to Batumi and the surrounding areas. For refreshments, the airport features Café Canteen, a 24/7 café in the departure hall that offers coffee, tea, sandwiches, and pastries. The duty-free store near the passport control area is operated by ATÜ, and the 60 m² Primeclass Lounge on the first floor can accommodate up to 60 guests, providing an elevated experience for travelers seeking additional comfort.
Batumi International Airport combines modern facilities, strategic coastal location, and a comfortable passenger experience, serving as the southern gateway to Georgia’s Black Sea region and welcoming visitors with both convenience and the distinctive charm of Adjara.
In Magelline's view, Batumi Airport is the sunlit pulse of the coast: a place where waves whisper their stories to the wind, and every departure carries a trace of the Black Sea’s warmth.
